Benefits of working for SVUK
While you are an employee of SVUK you can benefit from:
Training and development. SVUK is committed to developing all its staff. We will normally fund 100% of training and development activities needed for your job, and – once you have completed probation - a proportion of professional development courses.
Professional subscriptions. Once you have completed probation, SVUK will pay one professional subscription per employee each year if this is required for your job.
Reduced Rates for Events. You can benefit from a reduced membership rate for attending any of the AOC’s conferences/seminars.
Holiday. Full-time staff have 25 days’ holiday per year, rising by one day for each additional year of service, up to a maximum of 30 days. Part-timers have a proportionate number of days.
Hours of work. The working week will be up to 37.5 hrs per week (full-time) and between the hours of 8.30am and 6.00pm, Monday to Friday.
Pension contributions. SVUK will pay up to 7% of your salary into the group personal pension plan with Norwich Union.
Private health insurance. You are eligible to join the company’s private healthcare scheme at SVUK’s expense. However, remember that you are likely to be taxed on this benefit.
Insurance. CSMA can give you discounts on motor and other insurance, travel and roadside assistance etc.
Sick pay. We hope you won’t be ill while you are working for us. If you are, and you have worked for 13 weeks continuously, you will normally be entitled to up to three months' full pay and three months’ half pay in any rolling period of 12 months, subject to the company rules on sick pay.
You can also join the Benenden healthcare scheme (www.benenden.org.uk) at your own expense. The cost is £1.10 per person per week. Benenden is not an insurance scheme, but a mutual friendly society.
NB: This is only a brief explanation of the benefits we offer and our benefits are currently under review. Definitive information is available in the staff handbook.
